bits and sundry pieces

The air conditioning in my wheelchair van is broken... you turn it on, and it blows hot air with a smell of almost like that of garbage. I fear this means that the engine is not getting cooled any more than we are, and therefore don't want to drive it until it gets fixed.
Unfortunately, the repair place that has been working on it is only open during those hours that my aide works at her new main job, and that means I have to try to find a new repair shop that is open at night or on the weekends.... and decide whether I trust them or not.
My printer is broken, too, so I can't print out the registration form for Gally... I emailed the link to my aide, but her phone has decided this month would be a good time to have an electrical short three days a week, and she hasn't been online... :::Sigh::: I'll call my neighbor, I guess, and ask him to print it out, as the price for membership goes up after August 31.
Years ago, my cousin Toni adopted a little kitten, and named her Josie (after my grandmother)...and then, couldn't keep her, so gave her to my aunt to take care of. My aunt died a few years back, and a couple years ago, other cousins moved in with my uncle, to help care for him, bringing their cats with them. Josie, an elder cat, now, was not happy with this situation, and started pooping in the beds. So my other cousins threatened to put her down unless Toni took her back. Unfortunately, Toni is now living with a man who can't stand cats, so Josie has now come to live with my Dad, who'd rather live with four-leggeds than humans, anyway... I think it will be a good match, as soon as Josie gets settled and used to having a dog in her family (a dog that likes to cuddle with cats, as it turns out, but Josie doesn't know that yet ;-)
Toni was visiting with my father, yesterday, on her way to Vermont, and I talked with her on the phone. I told her I'd send her an invitation to LJ, so we can keep in touch -- and so she can meet all you cool folks. I think you'll like her. ^.^

As for my mood, I am a little bit of each of these:
awake, 
busy, 
frustrated, 
good, and 
hopeful -- depending on how I look at things from moment to moment. Take your pick. :-)

Date: 2003-08-20 09:25 pm (UTC)I've also had the 'car repair shop isn't open when I need it' syndrome, and finally I found a place that's open till 8pm around here called Merchant's Tire and Auto (I think). Being that they're part of a large chaine, there might be a branch somewhere near you. I'll look into it, and get back to you.
