Instant messege exchange -- tonight
Oct. 7th, 2003 12:07 amMike394inMS: hello
(oop! think I. Is this some guy about to ask if I'm hot or want to date?)
CapriUni: hello? Can I help you?
Mike394inMS: hi, how long have you been pagan?
(nope. either a wannabe or a Christian proselytizer. Probably the latter)
CapriUni: my entire adult life.
Mike394inMS: do you believe in a actual goddess and god
(sounding even more like the latter. Ahem.)
CapriUni: Well, actually, I am a Polytheist, and my faith is a personal one that closely mirrors the Gaia hypothesis, and has been built up over a lifetime of prayer, meditation and study.
(No response. I think I may have baffled him with all my big words. Or demonstrated that I won't be easily swayed by quotes from the Bible. Either way, mission accomplished)

If it was a fellow Pagan, I might have either triggered a discussion of James Lovelock, or gotten a question regarding particular pantheons.
The fact that I got no response at all strengthens my assumption that it was a proselytizer.
