Got a call from the guy at Chesapeake Mobility called this morning... the paperwork has been excepted by the Ford dealership in Arizona, and just has to be faxed to the Vantage Mobility people there (Who actually do the conversion stuff), and then it will be shipped here. So now -- I have to figure out what to do with this van -- simply trading it in won't work, as I'm not dealing with a regular car dealer. And I'll be responsible for registering it, and all, since the person I'm buying it from isn't the dealer -- just the guy making a commission on the conversion. So that will mean getting down to the dmv... And that means my aide will need to take time off to get me there, and her boss is very stingy about that, since she's taking two weeks off to drive me 'cross country (of course, we can't go 'cross country in an unregistered van, but nobody said anything about common sense being part of the equation ... :-/).
Still, "things moving ahead" is better than "Things at an absolute standstill"
Still haven't gotten confirmation of my Gallifrey Registration... but I do now have the cancelled checks dad sent in, in case there are headaches when we get there, as well as the registration numbers for the hotel room. So I will probably call to confirm the latter, at least, this afternoon.
