Dreams -- background music
Jan. 29th, 2004 10:20 amDon't remember any visual or storyline details, but I woke up with the tune to "The Corpus Christi Carol" stuck in my head -- the one that goes:
In yon hall, there stands a bed
The Bells of Paradise, I heard them ring
It's covered all over with scarlet so red
And I love my Lord Jesus above everything.
(The words were not in my head, just the tune. It took me a little while to remember the words that went with it.)
I haven't actually heard the song in years, so the only thing I can figure is the tune was part of my dream, at least just before I woke up. :::Shrugs::: It's better than some of the songs that are being used in commercials, these days. ...
If you're curious as to what the tune sounds like, copy the following bold text,

I searched for the tune online, at the Mudcat Forum, and discovered that it's one of those melodies with an odd time signature: 6/4, instead of the more common 4/6. Now, from what I learned in my scant music education in school, that time sig is about as "impossible" as "Giving it 150%" ... but there you go...
I've been scratching and doodling around for a melody to base a new song on. Maybe this one is the answer... I'll try it out and see how it works
