Nov. 6th, 2002 04:32 pmA random, (almost) unpremeditated drabble (just to see what's crawling around under the rocks in my head) ;-)
Pauru rested her hand against the doorjamb. Its rough stone
smelled of time and thunderstorms -- beyond the threshold, only darkness.
The pale moonlight that had lit her way so far
stopped at her back, as if it had met an
opaque wall. And yet the cool, damp breeze that
brushed her cheek told her that no such wall existed.
The quality of the breeze's whisper changed, and she heard
A voice: "I know who stands at my door," it
said to her. "Do you?" Pauru swallowed hard. All she
knew was that she, whoever she was, had finally arrived.
