OMG, yay. I am back at last...
Aug. 31st, 2006 04:08 pmIt's been a very head deasky sort of week, it has... I was about to upload Friday's naart for
naarmamo, but my photo program froze... so I went to reboot, and in the middle of rebooting, my monitor "faded to white," just like a movie effect, and stayed there. I thought my computer had finally died, as it is well over 6 years old, and my monitor was brand new. I had to wait until Tuesday to go shopping, but I got a new computer, with 200 gig, and a dvd drive, and everything ("everything" = pinball and freecell)... 'tis very shiny.
But when we went to turn it on, the monitor still didn't work... it was the monitor that was broken, after all (and then I discovered that my right front wheel was as flat as a pancake, luckily, the repair people make housecalls, for a fee; the repair man came and left just before my aide got here for monitor shopping. ) So I just got back from monitor shopping, and my new monitor is shiny, too ('tis widescreen, so I can watch dvds with the proper ratio)... Both computer and monitor are dearer than I initially expected, but I also expect that I will be much happier with my equipment, in the long run.
I've been keeping up with
naarmamo -- all except Sunday, when I felt overwhelmed by my chosen subject (a life drawing of a pinecone). But I did 2 naarts yesterday to catch up... Unfortunately, it seems I need to reinstall the driver on my scanner, and my desk has been all rearranged, and it will take a while to find the right disk -- argh! But I will upload everything to my NaArMaMo Gallery as soon as I've got everything sorted....
